Class Information- Due to the weather, I am working from home. Some of us will experience technical difficulties but we will just continue to move along as best we can. We are scheduled to return to the school building on Monday, January 24th. We are also scheduled to finish our iReady tests on Monday and Tuesday. Please see the assignments we worked on today, below. 
Word Work: Today we are going to work on Read Works article, "Shawn the Speedy Snail". Review the vocabulary words provided, you may see them on the state test so add them to your word bank, your brain.
Reading: Read Works article "Shawn the Speedy Snail"
Writing: Your Title Your Image (Microsoft Teams). Be sure, when responding to the Read Works article, to answer in complete sentences using punctuation marks and details from the passage to support your answer.
Math: Division Word Problems (Microsoft Teams) and Imagine Learning Math. Imagine Learning is in your launchpad. I believe there is a competition for Imagine Learning Math.
Science: Complete any pages from this week and review the Essential Solar System information. Remember you can go in and add images to the notes. (Microsoft Teams)
Social Studies: Complete pages 232-234 in your Social Studies book Connect: Go back and finish any connect assignment or use today as computer day

Class Information- There were about fourteen of us online today. Some of us experienced technical difficulties so we are just continuing to move along. Please see the assignments we worked on today, below. I am working on eLearing or emergency Plans. I will post them in the Content Area of our Teams Notebook. I will also print and have copies ready to glue into our agendas. 
Word Work: Today is our Achieve 3000 day and it is your choice of article. Review the vocabulary words provided, you may see them on the state test so add them to your word bank, your brain.

Reading: Achieve 3000, "Video Games Are Full of Surprises" and review text features. Please click on video link to review text features. Take note of how many text features you see in the Achieve 3000 passage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6EDEr_20sc
Writing: Remember to write in complete sentences, review/reread your work before clicking the submit button. You should be using information in the passage to support your responses. Your sentences should be more complex, longer with more details.

Reading:  Listened to Malala's Magical Pencil . We then compared and contrasted characters Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malala Yousafzai using the following Venn Diagram.

Writing:  We discussed informational writing. Please brainstorm a topic that you are interested in and would like to learn more information about. (Examples: Football, invention of french fries, cars, computers, games, etc...) You can also write a narrative to keep your writing juices flowing.
