alright so like I said if you did not get to see yesterday it'll be a good way to be introduced to our lesson today and then we'll get started if you did see it yesterday pay attention again because it's very important and very similar why do we skip snack why do we skip that yeah but why do we never do it again I mean I know a lot of you eat while you're sitting there doing your lesson anyway if you're if you're that hungry you can eat what is totally fine if you're hungry you know as long as the parents say it's okay just keep it away computer oh no I lose five points how many points do I have 14 points but I lose 5 subtract the numbers in the ones place first or how do you subtract 4 - 5/10 subtract a larger number from a smaller number how to put subtraction when you regroup you can either 10 ones cubes and trade them for a TENS Rod you can also take a TENS rod and trade it for 10 ones cubes you can borrow a 10 from the tens place and turn it into 10 ones now we have 14 ones and we can subtract 5 ones and we're left with nine ones so 14 - 5 is equal to mine the soccer team has 45 raffle tickets to sell eight so far how many do they have left to sell subtract 45 - 890 answer subtract the ones place first it's not possible to take it away from 5 so we have to regroup we can borrow one 10 and turn it into 10 ones now we have 15 ones and we can subtract 8 ones equal now subtract the numbers in the tens place we had four tens but we regrouped 110 so there are three tents 45 - 8 go to 37 store has 62 robot toys and sells nine of them how many are left subtract to solve subtract the ones play first buyer 110 and regroup it into 10 ones now subtract the ones place what is 12 - 9 Nelson tractor Ken's place he had six tens but we regrouped 110 so there are five tens 62 - 9 is equal to 53 sometimes you won't have counters help you regroup how do you regroup with subtraction without counters Grandpa Pig's 24 cookies Moby 7 cookies how many are left subtract 24 - 7 to solve since you have to borrow a 10 cross out the tens and subtract 110 then regroup and add 10 to the ones place what is 14 - 779 subtract the tens place 1 - 0 equal to one so 24 - 7 is equal to 17 When You Subtract without counters it's easier to write the sentence up and down always make sure you line up the places correctly first subtract the numbers in the ones place since you have to borrow a 10 cross out the tens place and subtract 110 regroup and head to the ones place what is 11 - 6 now subtract the tens place 8 - 0 is equal to 8 so 91 - 6 is equal to 85 you can use addition to check your answer what is 85 + 9 I know my answer is correct because the numbers match up it's always a good idea to check your work but you have fewer points than me wait a minute.
