all right so what we're doing still today is we are still going to be going over compare and contrast okay because it is a pretty big topic okay with means that it's important so we need to spend plenty of time on it to make sure that we fully fully understand it so we're going to do more practice with it this week and then we will be moving on from it. Telling us that were there together alright so let's go back to our PowerPoint okay and we're going to do another comparison story of Casey remember we did Harrison stories for Goldilocks and the Three Bears Ginger and the three bikes comparison on Thursday and then Serenity make sure you send me and we also did Cinderella and Dolly right so we're going to compare the ugly. playing along with the frog with no legs and we're going to do a Venn diagram to compare them and then we'll go over what do you do for independent practice later participate so I can keep giving you guys and points you did awesome on the the last one so here we go pay pension one day a mother duck had a three sorry mother job has three ducklings to came out and yellow gray the ducklings lab to make fun of the ugly duckling the mother duck was even mean to it to the ugly duckling ran away from his family to live with a farmer his wife eventually got me going as well so the duckling The Ugly Duckling continue to leave in search of a family that would accept it one day he ugly duckling happened upon a lake what a beautiful white bird they were all floating in a pond when the ugly duckling walked over the mother swam The Ugly Duckling when the duckling to the edge of the pond it looked down and saw Its Reflection it was no longer gray and ugly it was hold on it was now A beautiful white swan okay everyone good story call where you went but I need to back bun should be getting up there in the lesson the frog with no legs in the pond there live frogs fish and other reptiles and dancing Tanner was a brand new tadpole in the pond he swam around as quickly as he could he swam up to the older frogs in the pond and try talking to them they all laughed at him and said he couldn't hang out with them because he didn't have any legs he then swam to a turtle who also said he was a frog with no legs so he couldn't keep up with him either the Frog just browns with the fish in the pond and feeling out of place after days and days of feeling alone and sad the Frog felt his body start to change you notice that he was starting to grow back legs was weird because he felt like he a betta fish two more days passed and he sprouted front legs to you swim over to the Grand frog that turned him away the other day and showed off his new wife I apologize and said you could hang out with them now Lots the frog with no so now let us do steal our Venn diagram so what do we put in the top boxes Cameron pay attention Jocelyn what are we putting our top boxes we put the name of the story shut so we have thanks and then we have the frog with no legs bright okay so let's start talking about what's similar difference I remember we keep what is the same what they had in common in this yellow area might and we put what's different acts 1 out there a text here we go how to start Jessie what you got for me living water so both stories took place in the water right or setting was in some type of water is so in the middle on going to do is Right Craig what setting would say probably sounds a little bit better at last both of them. The Ugly Duckling had a mop that had a mop a month by a mother she went down was cute and the other one was Dan the man treated him so so bad that he ran away and what's your new family again they made fun of him to then he went into up on the den he went when he steps in a pond to you now look ugly anymore Give me a summary of the story was great but how is how is what you just told me about the ugly duckling different from the frog with the less give me one thing that makes it a different story spell The Ugly Duckling duckling is different from the frog one is because Duff the Frog had friends in the ugly duckling did it what did the frog have friends I mean you didn't really have friends until the end of the story so so I told you something what would you say is that the Frog was trying to get friends and the duck was trying to make is trying to get a family right that's a difference you guys agree with me on that okay so in the ugly duckling he was looking for a family frog with looking for friends right what else you're welcome to tell me something the Frog the frog the frog has no leg in the duck had legs what was the problem in the Frog story The Frog story wasn't he what is the problem in the ugly duckling family because why what was his problem cheat he was cheat bad and his give me more because he was gray and yeah yeah so in a frog he needed legs and she was Auburn so they both have different problems that they were trying to okay you have anything for me the mother duck invited him to a in the window log rule and the other problem play with me so when the Frog got legs he made friends right so when he got legs based stop playing did he get a family he became poor listen to that again Focus SE focus by when the Frog rule eggs front right it's probably six then he died did she get pretty and then find your family or did she find family and then. you highlight the picture that you want to move then hold it down with your left finger and you move it with your right to you click it down with your left and move it with you're right and you're going to put it where it belongs what side of the circle okay some of you guys did very good on the pumpkins and apples okay how ever on the bus is can be long okay and there's not a ton of room on this worksheet okay good job of just putting it right down here in the middle you did very good with that this is what you have to do for your independent practice today for reading okay hint hint hint hint I'm grading it so please make sure that you do a good job there's really absolutely no reason for this not to get done today okay everyone here that hence hence hint hint okay so that's what you have to do whenever you click on it one time highlighted look for that crossed with the arrows you're going to hold it down with your left finger move it with your right pointer finger while your draw highlight some of those keywords that separate the two like looks maybe for where it says sharks and whales that way you know that's both of the animals so that's the middle right or and then maybe you can do the Sharks highlight that one color and it was the whales on a different colors that would helps you organize your information would be a very smart thing to do okay all right and remember it if you accidentally delete something which happens and I know it happened so many times fix that without freaking out if you accidentally delete something okay go to home and then hit the arrow okay or it'll pop back but do not the page okay if you leave the page before you do that you're not going to be able to undo what you did everyone remember this and understands anybody have daily 5 free rights you have you write every single day you have to write every single day so you have just do one page per day you write about whatever you want to write about if you are stuck on what to write about just tell me about your day or it doesn't have to be anything crazy if I just write if you read a book already that day tell me about the book you read okay but you have to write something and remember that counts also as a great so if you are not completing your daily 5 activities and assignments mom is McDonald's doing her small reading groups it does not get any great okay it was counted as an incomplete over an hour to do these assignments so you really should not have any problems you can always go back later at night you're having a hard time with your internet and put it in you see if she has the date first okay you don't even have to put a title you can just put the date cuz she's got nine 10 so I know exactly what she was doing her writing okay cuz everybody understand that if you want to put title with it awesome if you don't that's okay too but the date needs to go okay so when you did it and remember just go to this plus page on the bottom say a lot of times when you click in it to there will be a page already up so if anybody has questions with that let me know as well this is our last week of practice for this okay starting next week you guys are completely independent on this okay is McDonald's going to be starting those small groups and you cannot have question so you need to make sure that you are really really practicing hard this week to make sure that this stuff gets done the correct way okay everybody good so I'm going to see everybody have a writing page today correct good because I keep track of who's in class during that day Drive Time and Eastern Clifford a i in checking to make sure you have a great speech there's no excuse got it good so let's take a five-minute bathroom break it is 9:15 right now come back by 9:20 okay water breaks get some water and go to the bathroom time is it going to kick me out of when I got back in and kick me out again it's all good we're taking a bathroom break okay
