Welcome
Hello! my name is Ms. Kasarda and I am so excited to work with you and your child this year. It's going to be a year full of fun, learning and adventures. I can't wait to see what the year has in store for us! The next few months are sure to be busy as we explore new skills and concepts in the third grade. I am eager to meet and develop relationships with my parents in order to better help your child. With that said, here's a little about me.
I’ve been teaching at Ridgeland Elementary School for nine years. I have been teaching third graders since 2007 when I moved to South Carolina form Central NY. There I attended Oswego State University and graduated with a Bachelors in Science and a Master's in Education. I live in Bluffton with my fiancé Walter and his daughter Olivia and our two dogs. In my free time I like to garden in my yard, cook, shop,...and relax!
In my classroom, I strive to create a home like atmosphere where learning is comfortable and safe. Students bond together and form a little family where they learn and help each other. I do not tolerate bullying or intimidation between students. When I am instructing I tend to use many resources to get my ideas or concepts out to my students. I like to have fun when I teach because nobody likes a bore and it keeps the students attention. To me learning should be fun! Lastly, my expectations of my students are for them to participate within class, ask questions, and to complete all their work. With that said, I promise you, you will see progress and a child ready for fourth grade. Please feel free to reach out to me at anytime.
