RES Students' Excellent Solar System Projects
As part of the 2nd nine weeks curriculum, fourth grade students at Ridgeland Elementary School studied the solar system and the celestial bodies it contains. As part of the unit, they built a model of the solar system as well as wrote an explanation about their project and its components. They were given an outline guide to help organize the information and a scoring rubric. They were encouraged to use science vocabulary words as well as demonstrate writing that is clear and organized. This project helped the students demonstrate their understanding of the solar system and the different roles of the celestial bodies.
