All About Me

My name is Jeanine Hodge, and I am excited to be your child’s teacher this year. I look forward to getting to know you and your child and sharing the year together. It should be an exciting year of learning and growing!

I have current SC teaching credential in early childhood education and a master’s degree +30+ graduate hours in early childhood education and administration.  I have taught and/or directed early childhood programs for forty-four years including teaching pre-k, kindergarten, and first grade; assisting/teaching in a preschool at graduate school; supervising a public elementary after school tutorial program; serving as director of preschool and children’s ministries; starting and directing/teaching three early childhood programs in three states. This is my nineth year at Ridgeland Elementary School. Besides teaching in the classroom, I have taught parent education classes, teacher training workshops, and also worked as a tutor, tester, homebound teacher and substitute teacher. I am the mother of three boys (who are now young adults) and the wife of the minister of two local churches.

I am passionate about helping young children learn. I am convinced of the significance of the kindergarten year and of their first experiences in a school setting and am committed to doing my best to create a positive learning environment and to provide experiences that not only enable each child to learn and grow, but to hopefully develop a “love of learning” for a lifetime. I look forward to partnering with you to provide educational support for you and your child during the time that we share together. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns about your child and/or the classroom activities.
